Elissa Felder, originally from London, England moved to the US in 1985. She became active in the local Chevra Kadisha - the Jewish burial society which prepares bodies for burial, following the death of her first child during surgery at the age of 5 months.
Elissa has become a sought-after speaker for insights into Jewish burial practices and the traditions views of death and the Afterlife. After raising her 5 children she returned to the workforce as a RN working in the field of women’s health.
In 2013 she led her first JWRP trip to Israel with 10 women from Providence, RI where she now lives. She regularly teaches and organizes follow up programming for the women who she takes to Israel, actively involved with CORE-connecting Jewish women with meaningful contacts and content. In addition she is active in the Providence Community Kollel teaching, organizing events and hosting Shabbat and Holiday meals in her home.
